The sickest patient seen first

Sound familiar?

What goes wrong today.

First come, first seen

Patients are seen in the order they arrive, so a quiet but critical patient waits.

Urgency kept in heads

Only the nurse at the door knows who is serious, and shifts change.

No record of the decision

If a complaint comes later, nobody can show when and why a patient was triaged.

How it works

Simple, step by step.

  1. Patient arrivesThe triage nurse opens a quick entry for the patient.
  2. Record vitals and complaintPulse, BP, SpO2, temperature, pain and the main complaint are entered.
  3. Pick a colourThe nurse tags red, yellow or green, with a suggestion from the vitals.
  4. Board sorts itselfThe casualty board moves red patients to the top for the doctor.

In detail

Everything in colour triage.

Vitals at triage

Key vitals are recorded at the door and carried into the case.

Suggested colour

Danger values suggest a higher colour. The nurse makes the final call.

Re-triage

A patient's colour can be changed as they get better or worse, with the time saved.

Sorted board

Red, then yellow, then green, with waiting time shown for each patient.

Waiting time alerts

Patients waiting too long for their colour are highlighted.

Triage history

Questions

Before you talk to us.

Does the system decide the colour?

No. It suggests one from the vitals. The nurse decides and can change it.

Can we use a five-level triage instead?

The levels can follow your hospital's triage policy. We set it up with you in the walkthrough.

Can a doctor change the colour?

Yes. Doctors and nurses can re-triage, and each change is saved.
